The meeting that started it all.
Kiss My Grass, 2009. Noel finds Kalus and asks about working together. One conversation becomes the starting point for a much bigger story.

An invitation to build something
The origin of the Kalus and Noel partnership is a simple one. At Kiss My Grass in 2009, Noel approached Kalus and asked to work together. That meeting is the point Kalus returns to when tracing the story behind the nights, the crew and, eventually, K-DOT Records.
Wah Wah was already a turning point in Kalus's DJ life. His work with Noel became part of a wider Melbourne story that included Wah Wah, Lab22, Mothership and Noizy. Together, those names trace a partnership that found its way into rooms across the city.
The people around the music
Kalus and Noel's story quickly became a crew story. Between 2009 and 2013, their work brought them into the life of Melbourne's suburban and city dancefloors, with Noizy Neighbours in Ringwood an important part of that chapter.
Those names matter because they give the history a place. A record can travel almost anywhere; a night belongs to the people who were there. For Kalus and Noel, both sides of that connection became part of the work: making and playing music, and building the circumstances in which people could hear it together.
A beginning that still belongs to the present
The partnership went on to reach across Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and overseas. Its present-day expression includes K-DOT Records, a home for releases, artists and KDOT Radio.
The 2009 meeting remains an essential part of that story. It connects the label to an earlier period of shared work, familiar rooms and a crew that grew around the music. Before following the records and the radio transmissions, this is where to start: Kalus, Noel, and the decision to work together.
